Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays main advantages are decreased radiation to the patient, they are environmental friendly and they save time. With digital x-rays in a matter of seconds the image appears on the computer screen. - Cable TV in treatment rooms
All of our state of the art treatment rooms provide cable TV, so that you can choose the programming you would like to view in our relaxed, comfortable environment. -
Digital(Paperless) Office-
At Ritter Family Dentistry we are conscious about the impact that we have on the environment. One way we decrease our impact, is through the use of a completely digital charting system.
- Isolite
Isolite is the revolutionary dental device that is improving dentistry. The soft, flexible Isolite improves patient care by: retracting and protecting the tongue and cheek; delivering bright, shadowless illumination throughout the oral cavity; continuously aspirating fluids and oral debris; obturating the throat to prevent inadvertent aspiration of material.
Comprehensive Dental Care
We offer comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages.
At the first visit for adult patients a comprehensive oral examination is completed which includes: a review of medical and dental histories, oral cancer examination, periodontal evaluation, full series of x-rays, and a comprehensive evaluation of the dentition.
We also focus on the oral health of children. It is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists that children be seen 6 months after the eruption of their first tooth, which is usually by age one.
Preventive Dentistry
- Prophylaxis (Professional cleaning)
For most people it is recommended that every 6 months they have their teeth checked and cleaned. - Scaling and Root Planing
Scaling and root planing or “deep cleaning,” is used in the treatment of periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is an infection that affects the gum tissues and bone that support the teeth. If left untreated periodontal disease can lead to tooth loss. The first step in treating periodontal disease is scaling and root planning. This procedure removes the plaque and tartar deposits on the tooth and root surfaces through the use of an ultrasonic cleaner in conjunction with local anesthesia. - Sealants
A sealant is a material applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth where decay occurs most often. Pits and fissures are depressions and grooves in the surfaces of the teeth that are often difficult to keep clean because toothbrush bristles cannot reach into them. The sealant forms a barrier that keeps out plaque and food which decreases the risk of tooth decay. - Fluoride Application
Routine fluoride applications are recommended for patients of all ages. Fluoride is a mineral that strengthens teeth and protects them from decay. Professionally applied fluoride applications play a crucial role in decreasing the occurrence of tooth decay and remineralizing tooth structure. -
Oral Hygiene Instruction
At you or your child’s first visit be will develop an individualized plan for optimal oral health.
Cosmetic Dentistry
- Veeners
Veneers are thin custom-made shells that are designed to cover the front side of teeth. They are fabricated from strong and durable dental ceramic. Veneers are used to treat spaces between teeth and teeth that are permanently stained, poorly shaped or slightly crooked. They may also cover teeth that are chipped or worn. - Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening, also referred to as bleaching, is a procedure that brightens teeth that are discolored, stained, or have been darkened because of injury. - Tooth color Fillings
- Dental Implants
Many patients choose implants to replace a single tooth, several teeth, or to support a full set of dentures. Implants are surgically placed in the upper or lower jaw where they function as a sturdy anchor for replacement teeth. They are made of titanium and other materials that are compatible with the human body. - Crowns
A crown is a dental restoration that covers or “caps” a tooth to restore it to its normal size, shape, and function. Its purpose is to strengthen or improve the appearance of a tooth. A crown can: restore a tooth when there isn’t enough tooth remaining to provide support for a large filling, protect a weak tooth from fracturing, restore a fractured tooth, or cover a badly shaped or discolored tooth. - Bridges
A bridge is a dental restoration that replaces or spans the space where one or more teeth have been lost. A bridge helps support your lips and checks and helps maintain the natural shape of your face.
Root Canal Therapy
- Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy allows for teeth that would otherwise have to be extracted to be saved. It usually involves making an opening in the tooth to remove the damaged soft tissues that runs through the root. The space that this tissue occupied is then cleansed and a filling material is placed in this space
